United Taxi is Kitchener Waterloo areas largest taxi company and most modern computer-dispatched fleet. In our fleet consists of 81 vehicles and 5 wheelchair accessible passenger vans.

With the number of hybrid vehicles coming into United Taxi car fleet, it shows that our individual owners do have a passion for the environment and cleaner air when 80 percent of our fleet is now hybrid vehicles and we continue to encourage more owners to follow suit.

United Taxi has received the Kitchener Record Reader Select Award for “Favorite Taxi Company” five  years  (2008,2010,2011,2012).

United Taxi was established in 1946 and our company’s vision ever since then has always been to go “above and beyond” in regards to customer service and to also stay ahead of other cab companies within our region as well.  Our track record over these numerous years reflects the above statement.  The shareholders of United Taxi have been the first in the Waterloo Region for many milestones.

Wheel Chair Accessible

United Taxi introduced wheelchair accessible vans almost 20 years ahead of the other taxi companies in the region to address mobility issues for the disabled.  It was the first time that anyone could call an on-demand wheelchair accessible van.   The other taxi companies now provide accessible service as well, but they only acquired the vans since it is now mandated by the Government of Ontario that all companies have them on fleet.

A large number of our drivers are trained in Basic First Aid and CPR.

When it comes down to it, the art of getting people from point A to point B has always been the most important thing that we have
kept our sights on.  We have always done our best to accommodate all of our business in a timely and friendly manner and we will always continue to do so.

Things We Are Proud Of

5 years ahead of any taxi companies in the region to acquire a computerized dispatch system. The implementation of this helped us greatly as business in the region grew. The other companies followed suit many years later.

The first company to acquire and utilize a much more memorable phone number. That is a big feat as our old phone number, as the other companies, was much harder to remember than the current number (888-9999).  The other companies again followed suit many years later.  We include these examples as a statement to our past and continuing mission and vision. 

United Taxi has always had a belief that excellent employees are hard to come by, so when we do find them we treat them very well. 

This is well proven by the number of long term, knowledgeable staff members we have in our office.  Due to the longevity of most of our office staff members, our customers get to know them by name and voice which creates a great rapport amongst both sides. 

United Taxi was the first cab company in Kitchener to introduce the decals on the side of our cabs to advertise our own company.  It also helps with enhancing our customer service so that our customers can see right away that it is a United Taxi that has pulled up for them at their door. Most people take it for granted that they can see the taxi but many elderly and visually challenged people need this visual help
